The Playgroup is open weekday mornings throughout the year (including school holidays) for children aged between two and a half years and school age.  The Playgroup has a wide range of toys, games and building equipment – places are available now.

An exercise class for mature ladies, although all ages are welcome.  Come to our sessions of exercise and movement to music and meet other ladies who want to keep fit and healthy. Wear something comfortable, i.e. trousers and trainers.

Line Dancing is aimed at beginners and improvers of all ages.

 

GOALS

Covers the principles of Tai Chi on a practical basis.  A combination of yoga and meditation to help foster a calm and tranquil mind.  Benefits include postural improvement and prevention of tension and injury.

 

BOWLS CLUB

Tuesdays and Fridays 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

 

The Bowls Club provides year round indoor carpet bowling. Beginners looking for a new hobby, as well as more experienced players, are welcome and there is a mixture of male and female players.  The aim of the club is to engage in social activities as a group and enter competitions with other carpet bowling clubs. Disabled members are welcome at the Friday session.

KARATE

The Karate Club is taught by a tutor with over 20 years of training.  Learn Karate for fitness, sport or self-defence.  The students, males and females aged six to adult, are graded every 4 months, taking about 6 years to reach the top grade of black belt.

If you like folk stories then you are very welcome to join this group.  Starting with tales from places in the North East, we then “travel” to other regions and abroad, sharing ideas and information.  Stories provided by tutor – just come along to a magic afternoon.

 

TEA DANCE

The organisers try to cater for dances that everyone will enjoy and will play any dance requested.  They also host a Saturday afternoon dance on the last Saturday of each month from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

G.K.R. KARATE

Go-Kan-Ryu Karate is a traditional Japanese style of non-contact karate, with a heavy emphasis on strong basics, kata (patterns) and kumite (sparring). Students as young as 5 years of age right through to people well into their seventies can all enjoy the many benefits that training with GKR Karate can offer, from learning a self defence, to improving fitness, to gaining confidence and inner security.

SCOTTISH COUNTRY DANCING

Scottish Country Dancing has taken place at the Community Centre for 40 years.  The group is suitable for all ages and new members are most welcome to join.  The group has contacts with similar clubs in the area and hosts an open evening each year for these friends.
